Love & Liberation: The Art of Queer Experience

  • Independent Media Center 202 South Broadway Avenue Urbana, IL, 61801 United States (map)

For 2018 Queer-It Week's Capstone Event, Women of Pride will be hosting an art show with pieces presented by folks of LGBTQ+ experience! Introducing our first showcase of LGBTQ+ art, we're proud to present Love & Liberation: The Art of Queer Experience!
This event will take place at the IMC, from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM.

This year, we want to emphasize the beauty and showcase the talent of LGBTQ+ artists and how they express themselves: from visual art to music to poetry, from love to liberation to unity. This event will be free to attend.

We are looking for submissions from LGBTQ+ artists! More information to come soon. Please feel free to share this event with anyone you think would like to contribute, or anyone you want to invite to attend!

Let us know if you want to contribute in anyway- submissions and volunteers are always welcome! If you're running an organization, please feel free to let us know if you'd like to partner or co-host! Additionally, let us know if you have any questions!

This is a safe space of community, love, and a whole lotta gay art. Spread this event far and wide. Art is powerful. Art is expression. Art is political. Art is therapeutic. Art is so many wonderful things that we can't describe in words, so you'll just have to come see for yourself. ;)
