Uniting Pride is proud to facilitate a variety of support and social groups to meet the needs of our local LGBTQ+ community. Our groups are volunteer-run, and intend to provide safe, open spaces for individuals to come together and discuss anything from current events to emotional stressors to navigating personal journeys to the joys of life.
Our social/support services are offered 100% free of charge because we believe everyone has a right to live well regardless of their financial situation. We are able to offer these services through community support. If you are able, please consider making a donation to help us continue to offer these critical services to our community.
Meeting dates and times may change due to inclement weather, holidays, or other circumstances. For updates, reach out to group facilitators with the email addresses below or check our calendar.

Uniting Pride Group Guidelines
Our support groups focus on the challenges, feelings, and experiences associated with coming out, living, and surviving as LGBTQ+ and/or questioning individuals, and how these experiences interact with our families, friends and our larger communities. We understand that we are all here to better understand our own feelings about sexual orientation and gender identity and to support each other as we learn to embrace our own sexual orientation or gender identity, or that of our loved ones. To ensure our groups are welcoming spaces, we ask group members to read and abide by these guidelines:
As group participants, we agree to:
Thank you for helping to create and be part of the welcoming environment we have at our Uniting Pride support group meetings. Ensuring that everyone understands the way Uniting Pride support groups work and the role of each person in the room is critical to providing a welcoming space. By making sure that everyone present knows and accepts the guidelines provides the group facilitator with a powerful tool to keep meetings focused as well as with resources that can be used to respond to disruptions.
If you have any questions or concerns about these Group Guidelines, please email [email protected].
As group participants, we agree to:
- Prioritize confidentiality. Nothing said in this space will leave this space, nor will people be pressed to share more information than they are comfortable with here or after the meeting.
- Provide support by listening carefully, sharing our own stories, and discussing our own problem solving experiences. We are sensitive to each person’s stage in the acceptance process.
- Speak from our own experiences, and respect the experiences of others.
- Be supportive rather than confrontational. Anyone who is uncomfortable may make this known to the group facilitator.
- Not engage in drugs and/or alcohol while in the meeting or immediately before attending the meeting. We also agree not to have any drugs and/or alcohol on our person or visible while in the meeting. We understand that drugs and alcohol can be triggers for folks who are on their sobriety journey, and we will do our part in making this space a welcoming, sober environment.
- Give everyone the chance to speak. To ensure that this can happen, each person is asked to be conscious of the amount of time they are using in order to leave adequate time so that others may also speak. No one person is permitted to monopolize the conversation.
- Be considerate of the group and not have side discussions. Each person’s remarks are important to the whole group.
- For safety, not join virtual groups while driving or biking. If I am driving, I will call into the meeting when I am safely at home. Furthermore, if I am in a noisy car, building, or other area, I agree to mute myself so as to not distract from the group.
- Let the facilitator intervene when the guidelines are not followed and redirect the discussion.
- Create a supportive atmosphere for all group participants. If there is ever an issue that may arise, we understand that the facilitator will have a conversation with the participant, and if it is warranted, may ask them to leave.
